The late Clay Schoenfeld had a long and
distinguished career in academia becoming both emeritus dean and emeritus professor of the
University of Wisconsin at Madison. His journalism background provided a foundation for
teaching and writing. He wrote extensively about higher education leadership and mass
communication and was an advocate for young professionals as they entered teaching and
administration.
Clay was also involved in ecology issues, as he said
long before they were known as ecology. He was the founding executive editor of "The
Journal of Environmental Education" and presented classes and seminars across
the United States.
